Hey guys! Kassandra with Prosperous Heart here coming at you from my home.
And today, as you can see … I look a little different.
If you have met me in real life already, or if you’ve followed any of my pages, you’d know that I go to Renaissance faires. And today was no different.
So, Scarborough Renaissance Faire has been around for … for longer than I’ve been alive … and it’s a great place to bring your family, you know eat a turkey leg … it’s a place where you can kind of escape the world.
I really enjoy going there – I’ve been going there for longer than I can remember …
It’s a great place to network …
I mean, you can meet so many great people …
But I was really glad I got to go today – it was the first time in the 2015 season that I had the chance to go. you know, obviously real life takes precedence over fantasy.
But I got to go, see some friends …
It was a GREAT way for me to take a break, take a breather … see friends I haven’t seen in over a year and just kind of get out of my head for a minute and just do something “new” … Well, maybe not NEW but different from the norm.
And the reason I’m talking about it today is that – besides sharing something that I’m interested in – is that, you know, you need to break out from the norm.
You need to spice things up in your life.
When you do something day in and day out it’s … I wouldn’t say it’s bad for your brain but you will be more healthier later on down the road, and even currently, if you spice thing up, you know?
If you … take a different route to work … if you meet new people …
If you do something you’ve never done before.
So, I encourage you today ot do something different – whether it is to take a new route to work (or a new route home) …
Whether it’s going to a Renaissance Faire that you’ve just thought about trying before …
Whatever the case may be, try something new!
And if you are a business person and would like to try something new and learn … maybe even earn a little bit of extra cash while you’re already online, then

I hope you guys have a wonderful rest of your evening (cause it’s about 11:46pm my time) and I will see you next time.
Thank you so much and I hope you have a wonderful and prosperous day!

Have you ever seen mind games like this on this internet?
What would your answer have been? 72? 90? Maybe something else?
My cousin posts some awesome things sometimes, but this one really caught my attention. Why?
Because it caught me, too!
I actually got both answers, only because when I posted my first answer, I began to question it and had to write it out … And realized I had been wrong! And here’s why:
The first thing my mind did is assume that the 9 where it’s asking you to find the answer was the next in line with the 6 – it’s not. It’s actually 3 more hops in the pattern to get to the answer.
But for those who think (or thought) the next answer was 72? You missed one step.
The pattern is as follows …
A = ( A + 1) * A
And therefore …
A = A2 + A
So if you actually wrote it all out …
2 = 3 * 2 = 6
3 = 4 * 3 = 12
4 = 5 * 4 = 20
5 = 6 * 5 = 30
6 = 7 * 6 = 42
7 = 8 * 7 = 56
8 = 9 * 8 = 72 <<<< this is where I was mistaken … I forgot to add the +1 to that 9 🙂
9 = 10 * 9 = 90
Now … why is this a duplicitous mind game?
It’s really not. It just looked like there could be multiple answers … but once you do the math it’s pretty clear cut. Don’t you agree?
I just love math and logic problems for several reason, including but not limited to:
That being said … one of the strangest logic problems I have come across these days are when people tell me they want one thing … then when they’re shown something that could help them achieve their goal, they wig out.
Do you know anyone like that?
I know several … Especially when it comes to money.
There’s a ton of ways you could achieve that. You could be an exotic dancer, get another J.O.B. (Just Over Broke), or become an entrepreneur and an investor!
That’s really the only ways it can happen … unless you win the lottery, but the chances of that are slim, right?
No one really wants another job to take more time away from the things you’re interested in …
But what if you could make that kind of money (or more) by blogging?
I know a lot of people who are doing just that AND it requires very little time on their part to do it!
And you know what? You can do that too!

Next Post: #WordOfTheDay: Magniloquent
So .. .earlier this week I was listening to what’s called an Inner Circle Audio. It’s basically something to help you develop not only as a person but, you know, as an entrepreneur and as someone who can be a positive influence on the world.
Well, one of the things it talked about in that audio is: “What are your non negotiables?”
And I’ll provide a link HERE for that blog post.
One of the non negotiables I decided to do for myself is to learn something new every day.
Now, recently I’ve been watching TED videos and you know that is a great and easy way to do that, get that 20 minutes in a day of listening to a good audio – something that interests me, something that I’m PASSIONATE about … and so TODAY I watched a video called “My Stroke of Insight” from the “Brave Neuro World” Netflix playlist by Jill Bolte Taylor.
And this 16-17 minute video? … It’s very hard to explain what I went through listening to the story of this woman who with clarity and insight and … just … BRILLIANCE …
She was able to not only tell you her background of being a neuro anatomist, but how she was able to study he rbrain from the inside out when she had a stroke. And what she experienced. And it – it really hit home for me.
It was a LITTLE emotional, so I WILL WARN you of this, but …
It was emotional for me because I experience a life threatening situation and do not remember what happened after I lost consciousness…
And I hear stories like hers … but her explanation was just so touching and so moving and it’s something that I’ve been looking for for a while.
Y’know, I’ve got life mentors – life coaches – y’know people in my life that I look up to in so many different ways … How they talk about how you should be MEDITATING and I’ve heard that meditation can lead some people into states or feelings of nirvana, and Jill – in a moving demonstration and less than 20 minute speech gives you an idea of how your brain works, and the hope and knowledge that you can achieve a similar state without actually being in a life threatening situation.
So, I’m going to provide the link for you here as a YouTube embedded video for your reference and so you can watch it when you have the time …
But I also wanted to provide you with a funny, quick little YouTube video of Bo Burnham who did a really great audio / song that I absolutely just love and it totally fits, so …
Below you’ll find the 2 videos that I’ve just referred to.

Have you ever been faced with an issue where you had to work together with someone to accomplish some task?
Ever been frustrated when you explain what’s needed to be done and they seem totally incompetent at what seems to be an elementary explanation of what you need?
Try explaining to someone how you make toast and see if they can draw it out. You would be surprised at how different we all think.
I was introduced to this a long time ago in a summer camp for the science and math nerds like myself who wanted to get ahead in school. (Yeah, I’m one of those and proud of it!)
But I had forgotten about it until it was presented to me again in a Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within Seminar in Dallas in 2014,wherein Tony had us have pair up and explain to each other, back to back, a photo of something. (Maybe it wasn’t at a Tony event, but something very similar to it.)
I was so detailed about what I was seeing, I’d say things like:
Things like that. The outcome?
Something kind of similar but with a few jarring differences …
… and then I was again reminded of this same process when I was watching this video:
The simple exercise in this video is where you have someone draw out how they make toast with no words – kind of like charades!
And from Tom Wujec‘s findings, this simple process reveals unexpected truths about how we solve our biggest, most complicated problems at work.
It’s truly incredible how much of a difference there is between people and how they not only explain a problem, but how their minds work in formulating a process, what’s required, and how intricate the issue is in one’s own mind.
The fact that there are so many different ways to explain how to make toast? Shows that there is so much to learn in the ways of communication, problem solving, and the like.
What I found interesting about this is that when people have too few steps (nodes) or links, information may be missing. But if there’s too many, things become cluttered and chaotic.
— when you want to communicate something visually, have between 5 and 13 nodes
— we intuitively know how to break down complex things into simple things and bring them back together
— break down a problem onto Post It notes so you can work out the issue better
— people build on top of each other’s ideas, and when you work in a group you integrate the diversity of each individual’s point of view (sticky notes help because it’s not one person drawing on a board but everyone’s ideas all together … it’s fluid)
— there’s a visual revolution taking place
— those who see their worlds in moveable nodes and links (you’ll have to watch the video for that explanation) have an edge of overcoming issues than those that think statically
— one company reclaimed over $50 million in revenue by following this process for their business
I also found it really interesting that in this experiment, if the groups did their test in complete silence, they did it better & more quickly. Talking gets in the way!
So next time you’re confronted with an interesting challenge, remember what design has to teach us. Make your ideas visible, tangible, and consequential. It’s simple, it’s fun, it’s powerful, and I believe it’s an idea worth celebrating.
If you would like more information on this process, be sure to check out DrawToast.com!
I hope this video helped shed some light on why it is that people can be so frustrating when they don’t follow your instructions on how to make toast. 😉
So remember! How do you fix any problem? Tell me how you make toast.
So! How do you make toast?
Has there ever been a time that you were explaining something that seemed trivial to you but became difficult for someone else to understand what you needed? What did you do to come to a resolution? Did you communicate and clarify? Or did you just do it yourself?
If you just got fed up and decided to do it yourself (which I’ve done on many an occasion) you need to start thinking outside the box.
And I know something that can help you do that! Check out the presentation below for more information on how to improve your brain to allow you to think more clearly, more creatively, and be more successful in just about everything you do. ^_^
