Today was a glorious day!
Not only did I get to spend a few hours with my sisters and my nephew celebrating his 1st birthday, I got to watch 2 wonderful men work through putting up the mounting bracket for our TV.
Why is that glorious?
I would be delighted to explain. 🙂
My Nephew’s Birthday
It’s rare that I get to see my sisters and brother, even though they live about an hour away in Fort Worth.
With the way our schedules are, my job plus my businesses, I only take Sundays off so spending at least 2 hours in the car on my day off is really hard.
We all know time is limited, but now that I think about it I’ll just see if maybe they could meet up with me half way. That way we can see each other and no side has to spend so long driving. ^_^
Yep, I’m going to do it. Because aside from today, I haven’t seen my sisters or my nephew in almost a year and that is completely unacceptable
Don’t you agree?
So I got to spend a few hours today hanging out with my baby 1 year old nephew, being around people (which lately is a rarity unless it’s planned) and spending time with my sisters.
I really enjoyed it and miss them terribly, so it was wonderful to be able to spend the day at the pool over a meal, birthday cupcakes and celebrating the day of my nephew’s birth!
My 2 Wonderful Men
So, my awesome boyfriend bought us a new TV since we have been having issues with our last entertainment system.
And it’s lovely!
The picture is beautiful, the sounds is great, and it’s definitely a test of my endurance and focus when I’m trying to work on my businesses while he’s watching something or playing a game.
Well, he decided he wanted to mount it to our apartment wall.
Now, neither I nor he has ever done this kind of work but apparently we knew someone who used to do this for a living.
Out of the kindness of his heart, our friend has come over and I’m watching them set this up so that we can have our TV mounted instead of on a (very short) table.
So not only are we getting to spend a little time with this friend we rarely see, but Devon is learning how to set it up as well so when we move we can re-mount it in our new place!
Why are these two situations glorious?
Because when you don’t see people for so long and then you get to spend time with them, it’s like refilling your cup.
I personally feel re-energized & rested, and although sad the time ended for the day with my family and with this friend, I still got to spend my precious time with people I care about and who care about me.
So let me know!
Who do you spend the most time with? What do you guys do?
Who would you like to spend more time with?
Leave a comment below! Would love to hear how you spend your limited awake time. 😉
Also – if you’re interested, join my mailing list! At some point I’ll get my video edited and up on my blog and you can partake in some of the festivities with my nephew! (He’s super cute, I promise!)
Other than that, thanks for stopping by!
