I’m sharing this today for several reasons …
Today I purchased Taylor Swift’s latest album … I’ve followed her ever since her Tim McGraw album. I’ve seen her grow from a sweet, starry-eyed, young girl into the beautiful, charismatic, intelligent strong woman she is today.
I have such admiration for her, and the more I learn about her, the more I want more of her in my life. Here’s why.
-
She goes for her dream – doesn’t let anyone or anything keep her down or stand in her way.
People continue to rag on her, say things like she’s “got nothing in her brain”, that she “can’t keep a relationship”, and all kinds of other ridiculous nonsense. Haters will hate … And at least one song on every album I’ve heard has basically said, “Don’t worry about the haters. Be you. Love. Live.” That’s why I absolutely love her “Shake It Off” single from her 1986 album. -
She’s gone from a sweet, young girl with an innocence in her stories to a mature young woman with a story to tell that anyone can relate to.
She’s talked about love, heartbreak, growing up, school, and overcoming obstacles. And even when she’s sung about the same or similar things, they’ve still grown and touched different aspects of the same content, so it’s still not really the same story retold. -
She is a role model for young women (really anyone) to look up to. She’s come in to her own.
She stands for what is right. Helping, not hurting. Love over pain and anger.“Even if it ends badly, it’s worth it if made you feel something – it taught you something.”“If you’re lucky enough to be different, why change to be the same as everyone else?”“Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. I hope you use yours for good, because the only words you’ll regret more than the ones you left unsaid are the ones you use to intentionally hurt someone.”
She even has helped me re-envision what I feel is the definition of a feminist.

- Her fashion has grown as she has matured, and has also helped bring back fashion of old.
- She can have fun, learn to laugh at the things people try to bring her down for, and keeps people guessing.
Taylor’s voice became public originally through her music. Since then, it has grown and gained momentum from her being the amazing woman she is as well as her publicity.
While I would love to be able to follow in her steps and forge my own way in the music industry, I can still express myself through blogging and making videos — just like you!
There are multiple ways of having a voice online. So why not get paid to do it?
