I am an entrepreneur. I love people. I enjoy finding solutions to people’s problems. The biggest issue most people have is that they don’t know what they’re passionate about.
When I ask someone about their J.O.B. (just over broke) they usually say something like, “Oh I love my job / the people I work with / what I do” … But usually if you ask that same person, “Would you still do what you do if you weren’t paid to do it?” I usually get a “HELL NO!” with that … Which usually means you enjoy or are comfortable with where you’re at and what you’re doing, but you’re not PASSIONATE about it.
Often times, when I ask my friends, “What are you passionate about?” I get a blank stare or an “I don’t know” … And that kills me, because I’ve been there.
For years, I had no clue what I was passionate about … I just knew that I was making plans and mapping my life out so my future children would never have to worry about money like I did when I was growing up.
But through the work I’ve done as an entrepreneur – through the trainings and events I’ve attended for my home businesses – through being around the people and the thinking that out-thinks me? I’ve found what I’m passionate about!
I’m passionate about helping people eliminate their debt. About finding ways to increase their wealth. About teaching people things that will empower them. And I’m working towards building a life to where I am time and financially free so that I can do that as my “full time job”.
But the biggest hurdle I faced was that it took me several years to finally figure that out! You’d think it would have been something I always knew in my heart was my passion … But it was something I didn’t think would earn the income I wanted for my future children. It was something I just did every day without thinking. But the thing is, when you follow your passion, the money will follow you.
I know this to be true, because I have met people who have the same passion I do and are now living an abundant life! And all of my successful friends and mentors always say:
“Find someone who has what you want and do what they do. In school they called it cheating. In business they call it modeling.”
Through my businesses, I’ve made several friends over the years. In my most recent venture (wherein people are earning additional income blogging) I have met several people who are leaders and are full of a wealth of knowledge to help others achieve their passions and goals. One of which is a fellow blogger Ellie Walsh, who inspired me to write this particular blog based on one of her own posts.
In that particular post, she mentions that she shares that she read several books about finding your passion that never really helped her. But once she redefined “passion” to be a feeling and not a destination (or life path), she realized that PASSION was about getting to know yourself better.
The thing is – we’re not really taught how to get to know ourselves … As Zig Ziglar has said, “We were born to win, but we are programmed to lose.” And it’s true! As I mentioned before, I chose my career path based on how much money it would make me … Based on the old belief that I needed to get good grades so I could go to college, get a degree, and get a well paying job.
For me? I enjoy my job most days … I enjoy helping resolve people’s issues and learning new technology … But it’s extremely stressful! And if I wasn’t going to be paid for it, I would definitely not be doing it …
Fortunately, I was very blessed to find something I am good at, that pays me well, and that I enjoy (for the most part). Unfortunately, most people do not have the same luxuries that I do nor the same opportunities that I had. And for most people, they stay in positions that they may not only dislike (on any number of levels) but may also not pay them what they’re worth all out of FEAR of the unknown, FEAR of failure, and FEAR of losing a “secure” job (that they could get fired from at any moment anyway).
After almost constantly stressing about my position, and then watching Stress: The Silent Killer … I knew something had to change. I wasn’t happy (really). I wasn’t feeling fulfilled. I didn’t have enough income to do what was in my heart, and I didn’t have the time to follow any dreams I did have outside of my chosen career path.
I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
And then one day a friend of mine introduced me to an incredible network marketing company in 2010. The product was incredible, the people were phenomenal, and it was something that could help me get out of the rat race.
It was my first taste of being an entrepreneur — and I was hooked.
And that’s when the Law of Attraction began to work in my life in my favor … Not only through the people and trainings did I become aware of it, but my mind began to change through the personal development I did outside of my business.
And although it took me longer than it did for others, it is my race and I found the finish line for me.
Which is why I agree with Ellie in that you don’t find your passion, your purpose in life, until you have self awareness. Up until I started doing these things (pursuing interests outside of my originally chosen career path, surrounding myself with intelligent & successful entrepreneurs, working on personal development, etc) … up until then I was just moving through life, working my butt off living paycheck to paycheck … Barely scraping away at the debt I had incurred from going to college and having a medical issue in 2012.
“It is not so much about what you are doing on the outside … it is about what is going on within your insides. It is all about living life from the inside out – when you have that awareness … living your passion is not difficult.”
I couldn’t agree more, Ellie!
Now I’d like to provide you with the information Ellie so graciously provided on her blog post … It is a process called “Fulfillment Needs” created by her friend Michael Losier. It is meant to open up your self-awareness and open the doorway to your passions, and out from her amazing heart she created a video series of this process:
Watch these videos, follow the process, and let me know of your journey by posting in the comments below! I’m going to let Ellie know that I’ve shared this with you so she can also be blessed in knowing how her video series has helped you become aware of your passions.

When I don’t share my passion. I find a problem that I have been researching and share a solution to what I found. Not sure if that is really passion, yet the overall passion is helping people get to their success dreams. So keep solving their problem in helping them research to find their passion. Thanks for sharing your experiences and examples!
