Do you enjoy listening to wise words from people you admire?
Do you look for and take time to analyze information that will help provide you with progress toward a more prosperous and fulfilled life?
I’m sure you do – otherwise you probably have no ambition!
I know that most people, including myself, have at one point in life struggled with their finances. And this can be tough. Especially when you don’t have someone to model after or knowledge on how to decrease your debt and increase your wealth.
So today I wanted to provide some wonderful, inspiring, and quite honestly essential quotes on success, money, and life.
“Great quotes encapsulate big ideas in few words. They inspire, motivate, and encourage in a memorable way.” – Thank you Rob Berger!

Too many people spend money they earned… to buy things they don’t want… to impress people that they don’t like.
Will RogersHave you ever done this? I know I have. I’ve gone to places I didn’t want to, spent money I really didn’t need to spend (or didn’t have) and all to do what? Impress someone? Feel like I fit in?
It can be hard to say no to your friends, but keep in mind you don’t HAVE to spend money to have a good time! And if you don’t like the place chosen? Suggest somewhere else!
And you DEFINITELY don’t have to be around people you don’t like. This is YOUR life. You should spend the 24 hours a day you have with the people you like who lift you up, and live a life of happiness, wealth and prosperity.
And if you don’t like your life? Do something to change it! Be around people who have what you want. Learn from them! Don’t be afraid to ask for help or advice from them. Every successful person started from somewhere — and most of them were not born with it, either!

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.
Benjamin FranklinThis quote is true on so many levels.
Did you know that as of 2008, 1/3 of all high school graduates never read another book after school? And as per this site:
When I was first told of these statistics, I was floored!
It’s no wonder my success coaches always tell me to read 10 pages of a “good book” a day! That’s 3,650 pages a year (or about 10+ books) … Think about how more well versed, educated, and knowledgeable you would be among your peers if you just read 10 pages a day on a subject that would advance your life …
Do you read daily? If so, what books do you read? Leave a comment at the bottom!

I will tell you the secret to getting rich on Wall Street. You try to be greedy when others are fearful. And you try to be fearful when others are greedy.
Warren BuffettI hear this all the time from investors. Kind of like the advice of “buy low sell high” … But more like “Don’t do what everyone else is doing” …
-
Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pound ought and six, result misery.
Charles DickensBasically save more than you spend. It’s that simple.
If you spend more than you earn, you will have problems.
-
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
Thomas EdisonSeriously. If people truly understood this, we would not only have more entrepreneurs, we would have more people with higher self esteem and higher levels of happiness.
Too often, when introduced to something that could have a powerful impact on one’s life, people are too afraid of it and make weird excuses to not take advantage of said opportunity.
-
What we really want to do is what we are really meant to do. When we do what we are meant to do, money comes to us, doors open for us, we feel useful, and the work we do feels like play to us.
Julia CameronWhen you do what you love, it no loner seems like work, right? And when you do what you love, what you’re passionate about? Money comes! It’s weird and woo woo … But it’s true. Law of Attraction!
-
Many people take no care of their money till they come nearly to the end of it, and others do just the same with their time.
Johann Wolfgang von GoetheWe all only have 24 hours in day … but most of us squander it. Whether it’s vegging out in front of the electronic income reducer (T.V.), wasting time with people we don’t like, or trading time for money …
Instead of doing this, why not spend your time doing something that will help move you forward with your dream? Why not do things you love? Do things that challenge you?
-
Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.
Jim RohnPretty straight forward.
-
Financial peace isn’t the acquisition of stuff. It’s learning to live on less than you make, so you can give money back and have money to invest. You can’t win until you do this.
Dave RamseyLive on less than you make so you don’t spend more than you earn. Makes sense, right?
And giving (whether in time or money) provides the fulfillment of a part of a human need as per Tony Robbins.
-
Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.
Franklin D. RooseveltFor those that expect something for nothing? They’ll never understand this. -
Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that.
Norman Vincent Peale
I think this speaks for itself, too. -
It’s good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it’s good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven’t lost the things that money can’t buy.
George LorimerIf you only focus on earning money, what good is that if you lose your friends and family? If you lose yourself?
-
If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.
Henry Ford -
Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant.
P.T. BarnumIf you allow money to rule you, you will only get hurt. You will focus on the lack of it.
But if you make money your servant, you can do so many things. Not only can money pay for your bills, but it will allow you to achieve the dreams you have PAST your bills…
-
I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it…
Thomas JeffersonI personally don’t believe in luck. I believe you create it – by having the proper mindset, focus, and action!
-
You must gain control over your money or the lack of it will forever control you.
Dave RamseyIf you do not follow the advice of these quotes (that of living below your means, investing in yourself, investing in ventures that will create a passive residual income, etc) then you will always be worried about money …
Worried about how you’ll earn enough to pay bills … Worried about how you can save up enough to take that vacation ….
Wouldn’t you rather be in a position where you wouldn’t have to worry about money?
Where money didn’t control your every purchase decision? (Or any decision?)
-
Every time you borrow money, you’re robbing your future self.
Nathan W. MorrisWhen you borrow money, you’re basically spending money you don’t have. Which means that is that much less money you’ll have in the future because you have to pay off what you took from your future self.
-
Rich people have small TVs and big libraries, and poor people have small libraries and big TVs.
Zig ZiglarFalls along the same lines of investing in yourself!
-
Never spend your money before you have it.
Thomas JeffersonYou don’t want to steal from yourself, now do you?
-
It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for.
Robert KiyosakiThis is something I try to have people understand because it is of the utmost importance if you wish to leave a legacy for your children and lead a life with less stress than the average person.
Again – live below your means and don’t spend more than you earn.
Make your money work for you by investing in things that will have a return on your investment … Like stocks, rental properties, a network marketing business that will create multiple passive residual income streams … THAT is how you create generational wealth … Because then you can also teach your family to do the same!
-
Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.
Benjamin FranklinPersonal development is key for progress! Without it, you fall prey to the misguided ideas of people who feel entitled and do not understand how entrepreneurship works … those who feel that the rich are evil and should be punished for their hard work …
-
The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.
Vidal Sassoon -
Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.
Winston ChurchillIf you allow the times you have failed to stop you from continuing to progress toward a desired dream? Then you are a failure.
BUT! If you do not allow those failures to stop you, then you are a success! Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.
-
Don’t let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning.
Robert KiyosakiSometimes people are presented with opportunities that are really exciting and can change their lives for the better! But they allow their fears to get in the way.
Fear that they’re not enough. Fear that they might lose. Fear that they won’t be successful.
But you MUST allow the excitement of winning to overcome that … Or else you will never achieve the goals are really in your heart!
-
Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.
Dale Carnegie -
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
Winston Churchill -
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
Mark TwainWhy not take a chance on yourself? You’d be amazed with how strong you are … How smart and creative you are …
But if you’re too scare to take a change or ask for help to build your future … You will live with regret.
-
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
Ralph Waldo EmersonSometimes it may be hard to blaze your own trail. And you may lose some “friends” along the way.
But just remember – if it’s worth doing, it’s worth the risk. And while there’s room for everyone at the top, not everyone is ready to be there.
-
Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it.
Oprah Winfrey

We all only have 24 hours a day … do you really want to spend it in a cubicle and / or working to make someone else rich?

Great post Kassandra!! You certainly speak the truth here!! Very wise advice from very wise and wealthy individuals. I think we can all relate to every one of these quotes and have probably even fallen victim to a few of them. Isn’t it true that all the BEST things in life are free? Thanks for posting!!
Kassandra Keeton says

Some really valuable quotes Kassandra. what I liked most was “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” how true is this, at least for me where we think about the missed opportunities..
Kassandra Keeton says
Azam – thanks so much for stopping by! And yes, missed opportunities can be a cause for regret. Just remember – even though they were missed, there’s still plenty in front of you! Keep your eyes, mind and heart open! And don’t regret. It’s a waste of your time and might close you off to other opportunities. 😉
