You enjoy being around people who lift you up, right?
What about people who are smarter than you are?
What if they’re more successful than you are?
If you started to feel uncomfortable, I need you to listen to me RIGHT NOW!!!
Just because someone has more success than you, appear more intelligent than you, or any thing else that makes you uncomfortable?
Hear me.
They have gone through the trials and EARNED where they are at today. They took the risk, took action to achieve their goals, and didn’t let ANYONE or ANYTHING stop them!
So what does that have to do with my blog post today?
Simple.
I prefer to surround myself with people who have had other experiences from me … So that not only can I learn from them and thereby be lifted up myself …
But it will allow me to learn so that I may lift others up.
And that’s what I did today.
I listened to one of the audios in our Inner Circle …
One of my friend, business partner & mentors was the guest speaker and it was about a blog post he wrote about the 17 Dumb Reasons People Reject Opportunities … And it was fascinating how many of those reasons (excuses, really) I’ve used for myself!
But he was SO RIGHT …
When your dream is big enough – you’ll find a way.
And I have.
But my how to answer my why is not why I am writing this today.
I wanted to share the nuggets of wisdom Kevin Sousa provided in his short training so that you can use it to spot when YOU might be using the same dumb excuse not to achieve your dreams!
17 Dumb Reasons People Reject Opportunities
#1: They have no goals or dreams
If you have no idea where you’re going, how will you know if you get there or when?
If you have no dreams or goals, then you have no compelling reason to TAKE ACTION! And when you have something to work towards, you must immediately take actions towards it.
#2: They claim to not have time
We all only have 24 hours in a day. Now what we do with that time, is completely up to us.
You choose where you live, what house you live in, the kind of job & market you work in …
And if you don’t like it? You have to do something to change it.
But you must MAKE the time.
We all make time for things we care about or WANT to do … That have value to us.
But wouldn’t time freedom (no deadlines, no boss to check in with, etc) and money freedom (never have money troubles again) be something that you might want?
Then you have to MAKE TIME after work … Sacrifice something HERE & NOW for your FUTURE.
If you want to have more, be more, and do more … You must put in the additional time to work to get there.
#3: They simply don’t believe they can’t do it OR that it is impossible to succeed
A person convinced against their will is of the same opinion still.
Whether you believe you can or whether you believe you can’t — you’re right!
When you refuse to believe that you could be successful in doing something THOUSANDS of other people are getting success with is simply refusing to believe you’re worth it.
But the thing about an true opportunity?
Is that if you work it and follow a proven system – ANYONE can do it!
#4: They don’t have the startup investment readily available
Those with a dream, with a fire in their hearts who know where they’re going … They have a reason. And this enables them to FIND the investment.
Bake sales, garage sales, extra shifts, 2nd job …
The startup investment (not cost, because an investment has a potential for return) can be found, created AND DONE if you have a strong enough desire to win & achieve your goal.
There are countless stories of people in any opportunity who has had the same problems to overcome …
And if someone tries to say money is an issue?
They are lying!
If someone you loved was dying and needed money to get better, you’d find a way to get it … wouldn’t you?
What if it was $365?
What if it cost $3,000?
What if it cost more?
You’d do everything in your power to raise that money, right?
Then why wouldn’t you invest that into your own future, your own self?
The returns are way more than you think you’re bargaining for …
#5: In spite of irrefutable testimonial proof, they still don’t want to do it
Sometimes people either are afraid of being successful, afraid of failure, or simply just don’t want to do things.
And if they simply just don’t want to do, then their dream really isn’t that important to them.
#6: They listen to & heed the so-called advice of nay-sayers and dream stealers who have no idea (or worse THINK they know) what they’re talking about
When you take council from someone, council with someone who has succeeded.
You wouldn’t take health advice from an unhealthy person or business advice from someone who’s never been successful in that same business themself, would you? (I sure hope not!)
#7: They mistakenly believe that because someone else failed that they will too
When your dream is big enough, the facts don’t count!
It’s irrelevant if others failed … Especially when THOUSANDS of others have succeeded!
#8: They allow their FEARs to stop them
They fear losing the money they put in if they fail … But the thing is, if they fear that they already expect to fail, thus causing a losing battle.
False
Evidence
AppearingReal
The only thing that kills FEAR is ACTION! So take it and kill your fear!
#9: They tried it once or more before and failed
When you try something, fail & quit then believe it’s impossible to make it … That’s kind of dumb, right?
Think about Thomas Edison – made over 10,000 mistakes before he was successful. Where would he be if he had that same mentality?
#10: They prejudge before evaluating it because they have no reason to look at it
Unless they know that what you have to show them can either improve their life or provide an answer to some problem they have …
Why would they care?
#11: They readily believe anyone opposed to it
This is just dumb. Plain and simple.
That’s like saying, “Hey I’ve got these great tickets to PRINCE, wanna go?” “Eeew, Prince? No, he’s terrible.” “Ok …” (as you weep because you really wanted to go)
See? Pretty dumb.
#12: They are obsessed with their own personal issues
This kills hope inside of them.
Only cure is to put a fire under your dreams!
#13: It’s easier to say no and remain in their comfort zone
They do this instead of going for their dreams, then complain about their current lifestyle.
The thing is, when you step outside of your comfort zone, your comfort zone expands!
It’s just easy to not do it … Which is one reason why people who reject opportunities are not successful.
#14: They are lazy and don’t want to work more than their J.O.B
If you don’t do something outside of your J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) to get ahead and out of the rat race?
You’ll never get there. Plain as that.
#15: They are afraid of what others may say or think
Who cares? Are they paying your bills?
Why would you follow or care what the opinions are of people who can’t get you where you want to be?
#16: They use their family as a reason NOT to, rather than a reason TO do it
If spending time with your family is so important, why not take the time now to create your life in such a way you NEVER have to miss those moments due to time or money?
#17: They believe they will do something TO others rather than FOR others
Business opportunities are simply this …
An idea, product or service you are sharing with someone you think could benefit from the information you have.
That’s it!
So if they buy from you, you are doing something FOR them, not TO them.
